Imagine yourself sitting in a 22.5 foot boat enjoying the unobscured panoramic view, looking over the side at a 70 foot gentle giant, as it surfaces and slowly cruises by! You can almost hear yourself gasp at the awesome beauty of this gentle beast! Memories of this exciting whale watching adventure will remain with you for the rest of your life!

Hello! My name is Winston Lambert and I am your Captain on this tour! My ancestors settled on Deer Island over 200 years ago. Our family owns part of the archipelago "West Isles" and I am a 9th generation resident of the Island - with over 30 years of local boating knowledge throughout the area! I am fully trained in first aid, CPR and Marine Emergency Duties - so you can relax, knowing you are in "capable hands"! In addition to my tour duties, I also work on the Free government ferry to Deer Island!

Our boat, "Islander", is a 22½ foot Transport Canada certified "Glastron"TM cuddy cabin day cruiser. The seating is comfortable and we have a "head" (toilet for you landlubbers) for life's "little emergencies"! This boat can reach a cruising speed of over 30 knots (56Km or 35 mph) and we can reach whale feeding grounds in less than 10 minutes, allowing most of your time to be spent in the company of these wonderful creatures, not travelling here and there! (That's what you came for, right?) This is an experience both the young and old will remember forever so bring the whole family!

"Islander" is also fully equipped with modern electronics which include radar, GPS (Global Positioning System), depth and fish finder, 2 VHF marine radios and a cellular telephone.

While out on the water, we may see many of the inhabitants of "The Living Bay of Fundy"  -   Humpback whales (the "clowns" of the sea),   Finback whales (the 2nd largest whale in the world),   Minke whales,   Harbour porpoise,   Harbour seals,   Atlantic Whitesided dolphin,  Basking sharks (the 2nd largest sharks in the world - perfectly harmless),   Bluefin Tuna,  Bald Eagles, Puffins, Seabird nesting colonies - and more!
